Care Guide
At Epico Designs, every piece is created to accompany you through life's moments. With proper care, your jewellery can remain beautiful for years to come.
Our jewellery is crafted from durable stainless steel, a silver-toned metal that does not oxidize or rust.
Our base metal is coated with genuine 14kt gold using the PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating process to create our gold pieces. PVD is one of the most environmentally friendly coating methods available and can be up to 10 times thicker than conventional gold plating.
This premium coating makes our jewellery highly resistant to tarnishing, sweat, water, and everyday wear. With proper care, your Epico jewellery is designed to last for years.
Cleaning
Clean your jewellery by gently wiping each piece after every wear.
Use a soft, non-abrasive cloth or a cotton ball to lightly remove oils and residue.
Do not use polishing cloths or abrasive cleaning materials, as they may scratch or damage the gold plating.
Avoid soaking your jewellery in water or exposing it to harsh cleaning chemicals.
Storage
Remove your jewellery before going to bed to prevent tangling, unnecessary friction, or accidental damage.
We recommend storing each jewellery piece individually in its Epico pouch or jewellery box.
Keeping pieces separate helps prevent scratching, tangling, and unnecessary wear.
About Chemicals
Our jewellery can only chemically change colour when it comes into contact with certain substances—it will not tarnish simply through oxidation.
To preserve your jewellery, avoid direct contact with:
-
Perfumes
-
Lotions
-
Body creams
-
Self-tanners
-
Hand sanitizers
-
Hair products
-
Other products containing harsh chemicals
If your jewellery comes into contact with any of these products, gently clean it with warm, soapy water, then dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth.
About Water
Our jewellery is designed to withstand everyday life.
You can wear it while washing your hands, sweating, running, or in light contact with water. Unlike traditional costume jewellery, our stainless steel pieces will not rust or easily tarnish.
However, to maximize the lifespan of our 14kt PVD gold-plated jewellery, we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to:
-
Showers
-
Baths
-
Swimming pools
-
Hot tubs
-
Salt water
As a general rule, put your jewellery on last when getting ready.
Gemstones, Crystals & Pearls
Natural gemstones, crystals, and pearls require additional care.
Avoid exposing gemstone jewellery to:
-
Hair products
-
Perfumes
-
Cosmetics
-
Cleaning products
-
Other harsh chemicals
To keep your stones looking their best, remove your jewellery before exercising, showering, or participating in activities that may expose them to excessive moisture or impact.
Apply your skincare, makeup, and fragrances first, then put on your jewellery as the final step.
Leather Care
Genuine leather behaves much like skin—it is naturally porous and is never completely waterproof.
To help preserve leather jewellery:
-
Keep it dry whenever possible.
-
Remove it before applying lotions, oils, perfumes, or colognes.
-
Avoid prolonged exposure to water.
If your leather bracelet becomes wet:
-
Gently brush off excess water.
-
Pat it dry with a soft, absorbent cloth (do not scrub).
-
Allow it to air dry naturally.
Avoid exposing leather to direct heat sources such as radiators, stoves, fireplaces, or campfires, as excessive heat can dry out and damage the material.
Leather performs best when stored in cool or room-temperature environments.
